Lip Gloss

Needed:
1/4 cup and 2 tablespoons of sweet almond oil.
4 tablespoons of grated beaswax.
1 tablespoon honey.
6 capsules pure vitamin E oil.
1/4 teaspoon cocoa butter.
2/3 drops essential oil (peppermint or sweet birch are nice.)

Just mix all the stuff together and scoop the goop into some 1/2 ounce tins which you can buy at a craft or dollar store.
Vanilla Lip Gloss

Needed:
1 Tablespoon Petroleum Jelly
1 Tablespoon Aloe Vera Gel
1 1/2 teaspoons Coconut Oil
1/2 teaspoon Vanilla

Heat ingredients together in a double-boiler and pour into jars. Cool and seal. To make:

Fun and Colorful Lip Gloss

This is a fun, sweet, fruity lip gloss that gives your lips a little color too! Fun for girl's parties! They can make it and take it home! Multiply the recipe to make as much as you like.

Needed:
1 tablespoon vegetable shortening
1 teaspoon honey
1 packet unsweetened Kool-Aid
1/4 teaspoon hot water

To make: Mix shortening and honey in small bowl. In seperate bowl, stir Kool-aid and water until dissolved. Add water mixture a few drops at a time to shortening mixture until the gloss is colored and scented the way you like it! Put in a gloss pot (available at craft stores and beauty supplies) or another small airtight container and store in the fridge.

Cocoa Lip Gloss

Needed:
1/3 cup petroleum jelly (or however much lip gloss you wish to make)
cocoa powder, amount you desire

To make: Put desired amount of petroleum jelly into a small glass bowl. Put it in a microwave for 30 seconds; then take it out and stir. Continue this process until the jelly is melted.

Add the desired amount of cocoa powder (experiment!) and stir. Microwave for 30 more seconds and stir. Set it aside to cool.

Once mixture is cool enough to handle, spoon it into a small container. Set it aside until the petroleum jelly gets firm. Then it is ready to use! You can also use this recipe to make fruit lip gloss by using powedered juice mix instead of cocoa.

Aphrodite Apple Mask

Needed:
1 T Applesauce
1 T Wheat Germ

To Make: Purée apple in a blender or add applesauce to a small bowl. Mix in the wheat germ to form a paste.
To Use: Apply to washed, scrubbed, and steamed face. Allow mask to set for 10-15 minutes. Tone then moisturize.
Avocado Carrot Cream Mask

Needed:
1 avocado, mashed
1 carrot, cooked and mashed
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 egg, beaten
3 tablespoons honey

To Make: Combine all ingredients in a bowl until smooth. Spread gently over your face and neck, and leave in place 10-15 minutes. Rinse with cool water and follow with your favorite toner.
Ginger Skin Creme

Needed:
2-inch piece of fresh ginger
2 teaspoons light sesame oil
2 teaspoons apricot kernel oil
2 teaspoons vitamin E oil
½ cup cocoa butter

To make: Preheat oven on lowest setting. Finely grate the ginger just enough so that you have about an 1/8 teaspoon of ginger "juice." To obtain the juice, squeeze the freshly grated ginger over a small bowl. Place the ingredients (including the ginger) in a glass container and heat just until the cocoa butter is melted and the oils are blended. Pour into a clean, dry container and store in a cool dry place. You can add a few drops of orange or other essential oil for a nice twist.
Kiwi Facial Cleanser (for dry or oily skin)

Needed:
kiwi fruit
2 tablespoons of plain yogurt
1 tablespoon orange water
1 tablespoon apricot or almond oil
1 tablespoon honey
1 teaspoon finely ground almonds
2 drops orange (or your favorite citrus) essential oil

To make: Puree the kiwi fruit in a food processor until liquid. During processing, add yogurt, orange water, almond or apricot oil, and ground almonds. Process until thick and cream like. Add essential and stir to mix. To apply, massage gently over neck, face and décolleté to cleanse. Rinse well. Makes one application.

Goddess Yogurt Body Mask

Needed: 1/4 Cup Yogurt
3 T Honey
3 T Puréed Pumpkin OR 3 T Puréed Carrots

To Make: Use canned (nothing added), or slightly cooked pumpkin or carrots. Drain, and purée in a blender. Pour into a bowl with the yogurt and honey.

To Use: Draw a warm bath. Lather your face and body with the yogurt mask. Sink into a warm bath and soak for 10-20 minutes. Rinse in the shower, tone, and apply a light moisturizer.
Coffee Scrub

Needed:
3 T Coffee grounds (organic-caffeinated)
1 T Salt (optional)

To make: Brew a fresh pot of coffee. Enjoy a cup, if you like. Put grounds (and salt) in a small bowl. Use grounds within 20 minutes of brewing before oxidation occurs.

To use: Scrub mixture over entire body while in the shower. Rinse. Tone. Moisturize.
Lavender Milk Bath

Needed:
3 T dried Lavender flowers*
1 1/2 cups whole mild, cream, or combination
1/3 cup Honey

To make: Process lavender flowers in a blender until they become a powder, turning off the blender and scraping down the sides as necessary. Whisk together lavender powder, milk and honey in a glass bowl, then pour into a jar. Before each use, shake the jar and pour half of the mixture into the bath. Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 1 week. Makes enough for 2 baths.

NOTE: *Dried lavender flowers can be found in the spice section of gourmet and specialty stores.
Orange Scrub

Needed:
1/2 of an Orange
4 T Cornmeal

To Make: Squeeze orange juice and pulp into a bowl and add the cornmeal. Mix into a paste.
To Use: Apply onto freshly washed face and body. Scrub gently for 2-3 minutes. Rinse, tone, moisturize.
Rose Bath

Needed:
1 Cup Rose Petals OR 1/2 Cup Rose Water (found in health food stores)
1/2 Cup Coconut Milk

To Make: Draw a warm bath. Add the Rose petals (or any type of pesticide-free edible flower) or Rose Water and Coconut Milk.
To Use: Slip in tub and relax for 10-15 minutes. Rinse, tone, then moisturize.

Cucumber Hair Drench

If you swim in a chlorinated pool for exercise on a regular basis, the same damage you've noticed happening to your skin and bathing suit, is happening to your hair, as well. Try this treatment at home to keep chlorine damage to a minimum.

Needed:
1 egg
1 eggshell's worth of olive oil
1 quarter of a peeled cucumber

To make: Blend the egg, olive oil and peeled cucumber. Spread evenly through your hair, leave on for 10 minutes, then thoroughly rinse. For the best results year-round, continue this treatment monthly.
